What is... Hospitality Management?
Please note due to the great demand for our programmes early applications are assessed when received and dealt with promptly. Therefore it is advisable to make early applications for an early response. If you do not yet have your final degree results this will not hinder your application as we are happy to issue conditional offer letters in such circumstances.

The hospitality industry is a major worldwide industry. It is dynamic, competitive, fast growing and international in nature. It is wide-ranging, covering everything from deluxe hotels, restaurants and designer bars, to catering operations and nightclubs. TU Dublin's MSc in Hospitality Management is designed to provide participants with the expert knowledge and skills necessary for a successful career at senior management level in any sector of this vibrant industry. This programme is aimed at students with a variety of academic and professional backgrounds.

This globally recognised hospitality programme is one of TU Dublin's most sought after programmes. It is the first and only programme of its kind in the Republic of Ireland and provides participants with a top-level educational package that is delivered by leading academics and experts from the national and international hospitality sector. The programme covers all aspects of the hospitality industry with a business based curriculum that is designed to equip participants with the management skills and analytic capabilities necessary to obtain careers in a wide range of organisational settings.

Entry requirements

Minimum Entry Requirements?
Applicants should possess a bachelor degree at honours level (2.2 grade or higher) or equivalent. In addition, applicants may be required to complete an admission interview.

Applicants whose first language is not English also need to provide evidence of their English language proficiency (6.0 or above in the IELTS test).

Note: Due to the considerable competition for our postgraduate programmes satisfying the minimum entry requirement is not a guarantee of a place. Depending on the programme of study applications will be assessed based on candidates? academic grades and may also take into account applicants? work/life experience. The DIT recognises both REL and RPL. Applicants may also be required to attend for interview for specific programmes.

Duration

2 years part-time.

Method of Delivery: Classroom.

Schedule: There are several options to complete the programme part time. Essentially, you will be completing the programme on a module by module basis. That is, there will be one module delivered per day and depending on the timetable and your availability you can select the module(s) you wish to take. Therefore, you can complete the programme in your own time and at a pace that suits you provided you complete all required credits within a five-year timeframe. You can also complete the programme in two years by taking three modules per academic year for two years plus the dissertation.

Career opportunities are literally abound in the national and international hospitality sector. This Masters Degree opens the door to excellent employment opportunities and accelerated promotion within a wide range of organisational roles. Graduates are particularly well placed to find rewarding careers in managerial positions within the hospitality industry. Graduates have also gone on to work in consulting, tourism, events, marketing, revenue management, teaching and lecturing or have started their own businesses.
