Overview
The Higher Diploma in Business programme is designed primarily for both non-business graduates and international students. This higher diploma is structured as a conversion programme allowing students from non-business disciplines to develop and focus their career paths in the business environment with a view to pursuing a career in business or gaining valuable business skills to complement existing skills sets.

Graduates of the programme may also wish to pursue further studies in business at post graduate level. This programme is also suitable for International Students from both business and non-business disciplines.

The Higher Diploma in Business offers an opportunity for students to gain a level 8 (NFQ) qualification in business with a further opportunity to progress to our level 9 (NFQ) Masters in Business programme.

Course Schedule
Classes take place on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday from 6-10pm.

To facilitate students who are working, some subjects will be a blended delivery of a live online classroom along with face to face lectures throughout the semester. Online lectures will be delivered each Monday and Wednesday night from 6pm-10pm, except for four evenings per semester when classes take place on campus. Tuesday classes take place on campus.

Students must have access to a PC and broadband internet access in order to engage fully in an online classroom environment. Computer labs will be available for students to use during these times. Students can also access recordings of the online lectures at their own convenience.

Please note: Examinations are held during the day.

Entry requirements

Entry Route into programme:
•Ordinary Bachelor Degree (NFQ level 7) with pass grade in a non-related disciplines (or equivalent qualification).

Minimum Entry Requirements
Application for admission to this programme will be considered from graduates of an Ordinary Degree (NFQ level 7 or equivalent) with a GPA of 2.0 or above. Applicants must also successfully complete the bridging programme BSST H3888 Business Fundamentals.

Duration

1 year part-time.

Schedule: Monday 6pm-10pm (Online, except for four evenings per semester when classes take place on campus instead) Tuesday 6pm-10pm (On campus) Wednesday 6pm-10pm (Online, except for four evenings per semester when classes take place on campus instead).

Number of credits

Credits for Full Award: 60 @ NFQ Level 8

Closing Dates
The closing date for applications for the following courses is Friday 7th June 2019.
•BN528 Master of Science in Computing (Applied Cyber Security)
•BN529 Master of Science in Computing (Applied Data Science & Analytics)

The closing date for applications for all other courses is Thursday 5th September 2019.

Courses may fill prior to this date, so we recommend you apply early.

Course fee

Fee: €2,650.

An application fee of €50 must be paid at the time of online application. This fee is non-refundable.

If you are made an offer on an undergraduate or postgraduate course you will be required to pay an acceptance fee to secure your place, this fee will be offset against the course fee and is non-refundable.

• Postgraduate acceptance fee €300
