If you are a teacher or other educator and wish to build upon your qualifications and experience, then this postgraduate course is for you. Our course aims to enhance teaching excellence through theory, practice and research. You will study 6 modules in order to build 120 credits for your MEd award.
We offer modules in a range of named specialisms or you can select modules depending on your area of interest and availability. Modules will be offered subject to viable class size. If you take one module in a named specialism and complete the Research project or Dissertation in a cognate area, your final award will include that named specialism e.g. MEd (ICT). For choices across specialisms, the award will include the term 'Professional Practice' e.g. M Ed (Professional Practice). The named specialisms are Education Management; Information and Communication Technology; Inclusion and Special Education; and International and Comparative Education.
The MEd with specialisms is also available as an online course, depending on the modules chosen.
The course is delivered online but some face to face block teaching in central locations may be delivered depending on module choice and demand.
Please note, this course does not qualify you as a teacher. It is aimed at individuals already engaged in a teaching or training environment and is intended to enhance professional practice.
