Cert CPD University Teaching & Learning
Certificate of Continuing Professional Development (CPD), University Teaching & Learning is a professional qualification in university teaching and learning. The Certificate of CPD is a one module programme offering faculty the opportunity to take an in service programme which runs for one semester only.
- Taught by experienced academic staff

- Research-informed and experiential approaches to developing your repertoire of teaching, learning and assessment strategies

- Learn about creative approaches to teaching through discussion with your peers

- Participants will engage in active, discursive and collaborative learning approaches. The emphasis is on critically reflecting on one’s own practice to plan, implement and review new teaching and learning initiatives in disciplinary contexts.

ProfDip University Teaching & Learning
The Professional Diploma University Teaching & Learning is a professional qualification in university teaching and learning. The Professional Diploma is offered to faculty who have completed the Professional Certificate in University Teaching and Learning and who would like to undertake two further modules for the award of a Professional Diploma, which carries a credit volume of 30 ECTS. Entry requirements

Entry to the Certificate pf Continuing Professional Development (CPD) University Teaching and Learning is open to all academics who meet the following three criteria:

1) Be in an active teaching role and have an academic (lecturing) contract.

2) Have a significant teaching commitment. The definition of “significant teaching commitment” is a minimum of 2 hours teaching per week or 50 hours over the course of the academic year.

3) The teaching role needs to be on programmes within a university or at NFQ level 7 or above.

Normally applicants to these programmes will hold an honours degree or equivalent in any discipline.

Application Requirements
If you are not employed by UCD you will also need to submit:
- Official transcripts of degree qualification(s)
- Letter of recommendation from an academic referee

2) Be in an active teaching role and have an academic (lecturing) contract.

4) The teaching role needs to be on programmes within a university or at NFQ level 7 or above.
