Games Design & Development

Game Design & Development is an ever-evolving and multidisciplinary field which focuses on a variety of specialties including programming, game design, audio and art. Students of this programme study game design and development using traditional industry milestones and structures starting at the atomic level, exploring and rapidly iterating upon individual mechanics, progressing through to systems, incorporating narrative and eventually balancing the game as a whole. As a medium, games have grown beyond entertainment to encompass culturally critical works in the fields of art, education, health and business. Game design and development takes into account social, cultural, artistic and industry requirements. The programme is deeply rooted in game design and programming and seeks to develop a culture of entrepreneurship, innovation and artistry in games
