Management for Healthcare Professionals

This is a stand alone 10 credit module in management specifically designed for those health professionals who wish to develop new skills and knowledge in healthcare management.

Learning Outcomes
• Provide students with appropriate knowledge and personal skills to enable them to contribute effectively to the management of health services
• Programme will provide opportunities for the student to develop and enhance their knowledge of relevant management theory, tools and best practice.

Entry requirements

• Working as a healthcare professional, eg registered nurse.

• Hold a minimum of an NFQ Level 8 degree in Nursing.

• Applicants who do not hold the standard qualifying NFQ Level 8 qualification criteria, but have relevant work experience may be considered for admission to the programme under the Institute's Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) process and subject to an interview.

This 10 credit level 9 special purpose award will be delivered over one semester using a blended learning approach.

The programme will be delivered using workshops spread over the semester with online work being completed by students in between the workshops.
