DPS provides full EPCMV (Engineering, Procurement, Construction Management and Validation) services for its clients. Joining DPS as a Lean Construction Engineer you will work closely with colleagues in the Lean Group as part of a multidisciplinary team to deliver on projects for our clients. Our clients are primarily in the Pharmaceutical and Micro Electronic industry sectors and the work is challenging and fulfilling.

The DPS Lean Group works as part of a multi-disciplinary practice which handles our client needs in the following areas: architectural, process, HVAC, mechanical, electrical, commissioning, validation and construction management services. The Lean Group supports DPS disciplines and Client teams with training and implementation of Lean and Lean Construction tools.

Working as a Graduate Lean Construction Engineer your day-to-day role could involve the following activities:

  • Supporting project teams with Last Planner Implementation – milestone scheduling, pull planning, make ready walks, lookahead planning preparation, constraints identification and resolution, weekly work plan preparation, huddle facilitation, data collection and preparation of weekly reports.
  • Support project teams with Scrum implementation – backlog planning, weekly sprint planning, sprint execution, daily stand-up facilitation, sprint reviews, data collection & reporting.
  • Becoming familiar with Lean Construction tools such as Takt planning, Target Value Delivery, Choosing By Advantages, Set Based Design, Direct Observation, A3 Problem Solving, 6S.
  • Adoption and development of digital solutions.

Who are we looking for?

  • Construction Management Graduate / Civil/ Mechanical /Electrical Engineer– ideally to degree level yet we will accept applications from candidates at Level 6 (Higher Certificate) and Level 7 (Diploma level).
  • From 0-3 years’ experience.
  • Computer literate (excel, power point, word).
  • Excellent interpersonal, organisational and communication skills.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Self-starter.
  • Ability to work as part of a team.
  • Flexibility required in terms of travelling to client facilities in Ireland (20%).
  • Projects can entail extended periods working on client sites as well as in our design office.
