Job Description

This is a new and key role within the company to project manage and drive continuous process improvement activities necessary to meet the identified goals of cost efficiency and productivity improvement.

This position will involve manufacturing process design, evaluation and simulation, manufacturing performance modelling, design for manufacture, complying with IS/BS standards, commissioning, system monitoring, system evaluation.

The suitable candidate will develop an understanding of the current manufacturing techniques utilised within the company and design improved processes for a number of key areas of the manufacturing environment.

Some of the duties for the position involve:

• Developing technical plans and designs.
• Developing detailed layouts and evaluation of current processes.
• Optimising manufacturing processes for product expansion.
• Reporting and collaborating with the management team

The successful graduate will lead this project, in a supportive partnership with Dundalk Institute of Technology and will also have the opportunity to avail of a Post Graduate Diploma with Queen’s University Belfast as part of the employment offering.

Essential Criteria:

• Min 2.1 BEng (Hons) Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Manufacturing Engineering or similar discipline.

Desirable Criteria:

• Previous experience in a manufacturing environment with a particular focus on process design, evaluation and improvement.
• Strong design and project management skills.
• Knowledge of the currently adopted best practices in manufacturing methods, material requirement planning.
