Mechanical Design Engineer - Letterkenny Glass Company Ltd

Letterkenny Glass Company Ltd has become one of the leading suppliers of bespoke glass products in Donegal, with the largest display of designed glass in Ireland. The company continues to be creative and innovative in catering to the need for new and exciting glass solutions in Donegal and throughout the island of Ireland.

The company has a wide portfolio of products which includes display glass, shop fronts, glass tanks, doors, stairs, balconies etc.

The new Mechanical Design Engineer will lead this innovative project, in a supportive partnership with North West Regional College and priorities of the role will include:

• To oversee our newly created design department and manage the development of our new handball court panels
• Have oversight of new product development in partnership with the management team
• Aid the improvement of existing products or processes to increase efficiency or improve performance

The successful graduate will also have the opportunity to avail of a Post Graduate Diploma with Queen’s University Belfast as part of the employment offering.

Essential Criteria:

• Minimum Degree in Mechanical /Manufacturing Engineering or related discipline
• Legally permitted to work in ROI

Desirable Criteria:

• Working knowledge of using Solidworks or equivalent design/cad software
• Knowledge of FEA
• Involvement in NPD
• Flair in product design
• Strong Problem solving skills
• Good Attention to detail
