At What’s for Pudding? we make decadent desserts with quality Irish ingredients and no additives. We bake using proven traditional methods, time, and care to ensure our valued customers get the authentic taste and texture of “homemade”.
We are a family business staffed by a team of home bakers. We produce small batch desserts and puddings, using traditional Homestyle methods. We have been recognised for the high quality of our products, notably receiving a Golden Fork from the Great Taste Awards and multiple other awards from Great Taste and Blas na h’Eireann.
What’s for Pudding? would like to undertake innovative research and development and innovation activities to refocus on an NPD revamp of their products. They have identified an opportunity to develop a new range of modern desserts. What’s for Pudding? would like to be the first to the market with their proposed new product while implementing a structured NPD system and documentation to develop new products.
The products will require research and development to scope the new products and ingredients and these ideas will have to be developed and trialled at an early ideas stage with nutritional analysis and testing on the impact on shelf life. The functionality of the new ingredients will require in-depth development and process screening within the bakery. There should be a focus on natural and clean label style ingredient selection and the efficient transfer of products to production incorporating technical requirements for launch.
This project is important for the company as it will affirm their position as innovators in their sector and Innovation Boost will help cement relationships with retailers
The successful graduate will lead this Concept to launch project, in a supportive partnership with North West Regional College and will also have the opportunity to avail of Post Grad Diploma with Queen’s University Belfast as part of the employment offering
