The Position
The new Product Development Engineer will lead the development of a new product for the company, working through all stages from prototyping to product launch. You will be responsible for the development of a prototype, testing, manufacturing specifications and quality assurance systems. You will work closely with senior company management in developing manufacturing, technical literature including design guidance, and product certification for the new product.
The successful graduate will lead this project, in a supportive partnership with Institute of Technology Sligo and will also have the opportunity to avail of a Post Graduate Diploma with Queen’s University Belfast as part of the employment offering
Essential Criteria:
- Minimum 2.2 Honours Degree in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering or cognate discipline
- Research & Data Modelling/analytical skills
- Ability to travel i.e holds valid passport enabling travel to fulfil full requirements of role
- Legally permitted to work in the UK
Desirable Criteria:
- A vocational qualification in Project Management
- Construction or Construction Materials /accessories sector knowledge
- Proof of Concept experience
- Knowledge of IT, Engineering, Technology, Quality Assurance, Design, R&D
- Experience of working creatively with multiple disciplines across a business,
- Prototype design, modelling, production and testing
- Product Commercialisation & Launch
- A proven track record of adaptive thinking and a strong, critical mindset
- Strong communication and group presentation skills
- Highly proficient at project planning, budgeting, and teamworking
- Disruptive-thinking and adaptable to dynamic situations
