SME Finance and Leasing Solutions DAC is a financial institution serving the needs for small and medium businesses in the Republic of Ireland. The company makes it possible for client businesses to make capital investment in plant or equipment and to repay these over periods ranging from 24 to 84 months. Clients are not sector-specific but come from a range of industries including farming, construction, engineering, and food production.
This exciting position is for a Project Manager / Software Architect who will create a platform for the integration of a collection of applications that are currently unconnected. The company currently uses a selection of off-the-shelf software systems for separate tasks such as customer management, banking, insurance, telephony, credit management, and others.
However, the lack of integration between these systems results in significant duplication of data entry (for example, customers’ details need to be provided to each of these systems separately) resulting in potential for inconsistency and conflict between systems. The lack of inter-connectivity also limits the potential of the company to offer a “fully online” experience to its customers.
At present, all interaction is over the phone with a company representative navigating the systems in response to a particular customer query. Our vision (and the aim of this project) is to design and build an infrastructure that facilitates interaction between the separate systems, enabling them to be able to share and exchange data, and provide for the specification of automatic workflows by which a sequence of online operations can be set up to run without company intervention.
This will have a significant positive impact on the company, allowing it to provide a 24/7/365 “hands-free” operation.
We envisage that this project will provide an excellent opportunity for a suitable graduate to demonstrate and further develop their technical, inter-personal and professional skills. Although the initial project is of 12-months duration, this workplan has the potential to deliver substantial longer-term benefit and we anticipate and hope that the successful applicant will play a central role in directing IT operations in the company for the longer term.
The successful graduate will lead this project, in a supportive partnership with Ulster University and will also have the opportunity to avail of a post grad diploma with Queen’s University Belfast as part of the employment offering.
The position is based at the company HQ in Callan, Co. Kilkenny. An element of remote working can be facilitated, though some on-site activities will be required.
