Our Graduate Programme in a nutshell

Our 2 year Graduate Scheme lets you shine and get creative, tackling real-life business challenges with your grad community, while supporting you to learn and grow as you develop your skills and knowledge through rotations in the area of our business that excites you most. You’ll even get international exposure to our sister company in the UK and meet our CEO, Robert, who leads both businesses.

Our grads will join us on a 2 year Fixed Term Contract starting in September 2022 and will be based in our Head Office in Dublin’s vibrant docklands.

What’s involved in Networks & Service Management

The Networks and Service Management Function comprises of several areas that are central to the functioning of the Three Ireland Mobile Network.

  • Core Network – which is a central part of the Mobile Network and is responsible for functions such as managing subscriber profile information, subscriber location, the authentication of subscribers and the services they have access to and provides the necessary switching and routing functions for voice and data sessions.
  • IP Network – which is all about the connectivity and communication between Servers and network devices, internally within and between our data centres, and externally to ISP providers, other local operators, IoT & MNS customers etc.
  • Service Layer and Messaging – which is a mix of platforms dealing with how Network Devices are operationally managed, how Voice and Data sessions are managed and controlled, and messaging is managed – Voicemail, MMS and SMS etc.
  • OSS – which is a mix of platforms responsible for fault & performance management across the Network for Core, IP, Tx & RAN.
  • Service Management - covers the management of Incidents and Change across all of Technology, along with how new projects into introduced into Production.

Finally, we are responsible for Technology Security, which is another cross-Technology team that liaise closely with the Governance and Security team in Finance, and work on ensuring the company security policies and procedures are implemented in all Technology deliverables.

The job in a nutshell

A new graduate joining the Network & Service Management team you can expect to be involved in the evolution of the Network as we design and launch new services such as Next Generation Voice, 5G Core Network & IoT.

  • You will have the opportunity to understand how we embrace virtualisation & apply it in the world of Networks as we build our new services based on this concept.
  • Working in the Networks team, you will learn about how we design and implement changes across multiple areas.
  • You will develop an understanding of how solutions are identified and deployed E2E across the Network, through the project lifecycle from planning and feasibility through to implementation and deployment.
  • You will be involved in proactively driving initiatives regarding improvements to existing tools & processes.
  • You will also get to see how we optimise the Network, and how we manage the capacity and performance of the Network.

What we’re looking for

We’re looking for people with passion, energy and a get-stuck-in attitude. You’ll be proactive with a curious mindset, always looking to learn and improve – and teach us a thing or two with your fresh thinking. Three is a dynamic and fast-paced place to work, so being able to balance lots of different priorities is a skill you’ll have nailed. You’ll be working collaboratively with other teams and partners, allowing your confidence building relationships and fantastic communication skills to really shine.

For this role you’ll also need to be:

  • Graduating this year, or have graduated within the last 2 years.
  • This programme is best suited to those with an Engineering / Science / Technical degree and a strong desire to develop technical skills
  • Able to demonstrate the legal right to work in Ireland

  • Ability to digest technical information
