I have learned a wide range of technical and soft skills which has increased my confidence. I feel well prepared for any future roles that I may take on.

I started in Applegreen in August 2021 as a HR Intern working across Group and Regional HR teams.

While no two weeks are ever the same, they are based on collaboration.

There is typically a call with my line manager on Monday outlining tasks, priorities, and expectations. I will then have a team call on Monday or Tuesday with the whole team to align on goals for the week. My main tasks throughout the week revolve around compliance, employee engagement, and recruitment.

I am typically in the office 2-3 days a week and enjoy coming in as I feel it is where I do my best work. My weeks are busy, but I prefer it that way as they fly by!

My favourite part of the Applegreen internship experience has been meeting a wide range of people throughout the business, from colleagues on site to the CEO and COO. Everyone has been very nice and have helped teach me about the business.

What I enjoy about working in Applegreen is the company culture. Since it is a smaller company, my role is more fast paced than a similar role in a larger company. Because of this, no two days are ever the same and the work that I do matters and I’m proud of it.

The people are lovely and extremely driven, which brings the best out of me and allows me to enjoy myself at the same time. If you want to get the most out of your Internship, join Applegreen!
