MA in Development Studies
The post-graduate studies programme at Kimmage DSC addresses the many challenges facing development workers and activists in an ever more complex and changing world. The MA is designed to prepare participant s for work on development related issues.
Delve into and explore contemporary development theories while immersing yourself in participatory learning methods which encourage and value the sharing of real life practice and experience. The programme enables participants to reflect on and respond to issues such as poverty, human rights, inequality, governance, gender, conflict, food insecurity, aid and climate change.
Course participants develop professional skills especially in the areas of research, leadership and working with groups, advocacy and campaigning and all aspects of project management and evaluation. We bridge the divide between development practitioners north and south, between academic and civil society, between higher education and adult education, and between NGOs and the missionary sector.
Kimmage DSC graduates are located all over the world in a wide range of roles. Please see the graduate profiles and testimonial sections on our website to hear what our past participants felt about the time studying in with Kimmage DSC.
