The Diploma Centre, as part of the Law Society of Ireland’s Law School, has provided continuing professional legal education for over 20 years. Our aim is to enhance the skills and career opportunities of our students through the provision of an excellent and diverse range of postgraduate courses that utilise innovative technology for teaching and learning purposes. Our diploma and certificate courses are primarily aimed at solicitors, trainees and barristers with a number of our courses are also open to other suitably qualified professionals.
The Diploma Centre team have a passion for legal education, are committed to professional development and are dedicated to delivering lifelong learning. We were delighted to have been awarded “Service Provider to the Legal Profession” at the 2016 & 2017 Irish Law Awards.

We provide courses that underpin the regular practice of Irish solicitors in firms and in industry, as well as a range of new courses that reflect the changing needs and requirements of the modern-day professional and executive. In doing so, the Diploma Centre utilises technology to enhance the learning experience of our students and to ensure that our courses are accessible to all our members, regardless of location as our courses are available both onsite and online (live and on-demand).
The Diploma Centre will offer the popular Certificate in Aviation Leasing & Finance this autumn commencing on 27 September 2018. This certificate will benefit those who wish to broaden their knowledge and understand the legal issues relating to the aviation leasing and finance industry. It provides an overview of the key legal, finance and technical issues, as well as an understanding of the regulation, tax and insurance aspects relevant to aircraft leasing and finance.
The Diploma Centre is offering a Diploma in Construction Law which begins on 13 October 2018 and provides an overview of the specialised discipline that is construction law and practice in Ireland. Participants will be introduced to the standard forms of construction contracts with particular focus on the Public Works and RIAI Contracts. There will be specialised introductory streams for lawyers and non-lawyers and specific modules on the tendering process and construction dispute resolution.
The Diploma Centre is offering an online Certificate in Data Protection Practice beginning 4 October 2018. This certificate will answer these questions and more, offering an in-depth analysis of the current data protection legal framework, the impact of this new Regulation, key developments such as Brexit, international data transfers and the EU-US Privacy Shield. Lecturers and tutors are leading data protection practitioners and privacy consultants drawn from private practice, the public sector and multinationals. This is an online course featuring interactive online workshops.
