Cloud Technologies - Letterkenny

This programme will augment students’ existing skills and knowledge to position them for a successful and rewarding career in Cloud Technologies. Successful graduates find opportunities in insurance companies, all major IT multinationals as well as any company using large data-centre based IT Systems. Roles include becoming a Cloud Architect or Engineer, a Cloud Systems Administrator or Cloud Services Developer.



Who should apply?

This programme is suitable for holders of an Honours degree in computing or those with an appropriate mix of academic qualifications and IT experience. This course will help maintain students’ self-development with a set of skills that are transferable to the broader computing industry. These skill are reinforced with a strong emphasis on teamwork and the primary aim of the course is to empower students with the necessary theoretical and hands-on skills to allow them to work and make a a significant contribution in a Cloud Technologies environment.

Applicants require a Level 8 Honours degree in Computing, or equivalent, second class honours (2.2), or Higher Diploma in Computing (Conversion Course into Computing). Students without an Honours degree but with relevant experience you may also be eligible to apply via Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL).

When to Apply

Flexible learning courses are popular, and they fill on a first come, first served basis. There are two major intake periods throughout the academic year, September and January.



For January start courses, applications typically open in October, and for September start courses, applications typically open in February. Closing dates for applications are listed on the individual course webpages.

Students can expect to allow between 10 and 20 hours for study per week.

Progression Pathways

Many of our Masters programmes are structured in a way that includes recognised entry and exit awards. This means that you can apply for part of Masters first and learn at your own pace or if you are unable to complete the full programme, you can still gain a recognised qualification. Our entry and exit awards typically include Postgraduate Certificate award and a Postgraduate Diploma award.
