Computing in Cybersecurity - Letterkenny

This is a three block programme followed by a dissertation. Developed in collaboration with the IT industry , following graduation students will be perfectly positioned to make the most of their future career opportunities in cybersecurity. At the heart of the course is a focus on a range of topics applicable to Cybersecurity, Software Compliance, Threat Management and Information security Management. This is followed by a dissertation where students can apply their learning to demonstrate an extended knowledge and ability in that area.

This programme is suitable for individuals who have a strong interest in information security, computer networks, and protecting digital systems and data from cyber threats.

Secure Information Systems

Cryptography and Forensic Analysis

Cybersecurity with Software Compliance

Cybersecurity with Information Security Management

Cybersecurity with Threat Management

Entry requirements

Applicants require a Level 8 Honours degree in Computing, or equivalent, second class honours (2.2), or Higher Diploma in Computing (Conversion Course into Computing). Students without an Honours degree but with relevant experience may also be eligible to apply via Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL).

Application dates

Flexible learning courses are popular, and they fill on a first come, first served basis. There are two major intake periods throughout the academic year, September and January.



For January start courses, applications typically open in October, and for September start courses, applications typically open in February. Closing dates for applications are listed on the individual course webpage.

Duration

1 year part-time, online.



Study Hours

Students can expect to allow between 10 and 20 hours for study per week.



On-Campus Attendance: No attendance required.
