Conscious Sedation in Dentistry
Course Description
The Postgraduate Diploma course is held over an eighteen-month period. The Course is aimed at primary care dental practitioners providing support for those patients with dental anxiety and undertaking dentistry in a safe, effective and anxiety free manner. It also aims to provide a recognised education and training programme that will equip dentists with the knowledge, skills and experience to safely and independently use conscious sedation techniques in their own clinics. The course leads to the award of Postgraduate Diploma in Conscious Sedation in Dentistry.
Entry requirements
Applicants must possess a dental degree, which enables registration with the Dental Council in Ireland. Entry to training in conscious sedation in dentistry would normally follow a two-year period of general professional training post graduation. Applicants must have evidence of satisfactory seroconversion for protection against Hepatitis B and Hepatitis C. Applicants will be requested to undergo Garda (Police) Vetting.
All applicants must upload a separate statement (no more than 300 words in length) stating why they wish to undertake the Diploma.
For applicants whose first language is not English, the required proficiency for admission to this course is an IELTS (academic version) score of 7, with no individual band below 7.
