The Higher Diploma in Science in Data Analytics is a one-year full-time or two-year part-time programme aimed at individuals seeking to upskill or reskill in computing and data science. The programme is designed to provide learners with practical knowledge and skills in data analytics, covering areas such as web and business application, predictive modelling, statistics, programming, machine learning, and data visualisation. It also offers opportunities to analyse and solve real-world ICT projects through work placement and project work.

Entry requirements
To be eligible for the Higher Diploma in Science in Digital Data Analytics programme, applicants typically need to meet the following minimum entry requirements:
A Level 8 primary undergraduate honours degree with a minimum Pass classification from a recognised third-level institution in a non-cognate area and ideally be able to demonstrate mathematical problem-solving skills as part of previous programme learning (i.e., maths at Leaving Cert level would suffice).
Or, a minimum Level 7 Ordinary Bachelor’s degree in a cognate area such as computer science, technology, networking, information systems, engineering, general science, mathematics, statistics, or data science.
Or, applicants who do not have a Level 8 qualification and who have at least 3 years’ work experience may also be considered through the college’s normal RPL procedures. Relevant professional experience may be taken into account and individuals will be assessed on a case-by-case basis through DBS RPL procedures.
All applicants, including EU and non-EU, apply directly to the Admissions Office, with non-EU applicants residing outside Ireland/EU applying to the International Admissions Office.
International applicants whose first language is not English and who have not previously undertaken a degree taught in English must provide evidence of proficiency in English language equivalent to B2+ or above on the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFRL), evidenced through a recognised English Language test such as IELTS or Cambridge Certificate. Test certificates should be dated within the last two years to be considered valid.
