Design for User Experience and Interaction UX&I
The MSc in Design for User Experience and Interaction (UX&I) is a taught Masters course. It has been designed specifically for people who are interested in a career in the exciting fields of user experience and interaction. As the integration of digital technology into our lives expands, there is a growing demand for solutions to provide positive, engaging experiences as well as meeting people's needs. This MSc is designed to provide students with the necessary skills to bridge the communication gap between the user of a solution and the software developer, ensuring solutions are impactful, engaging, and intuitive. Taught over 12 months, the course provides learning in both design research methods and user focused solutions. This approach ensures that graduates have the skills to work with digital development teams, and lead projects from needs identification to solution generation. A particular strength of the course is the dissertation project, as it allows students to choose a research topic reflective of their career aspirations in the diverse UX&I sector and demonstrate the skills gained in the taught modules.
This is a full-time, on-site programme which is delivered over 12 months (September August inclusive). Typically, students have between 4-20 contact hours per week. Students use the time between classes to apply their learnings and complete assignments. Taught modules are delivered in semesters 1 & 2 (autumn and spring) with dissertation projects, including field research, carried out in semester 3 (summer).
Course places are capped at 25 students per academic year.
