Digital Innovation for Sport - Galway
Digital innovation is being rapidly embraced by Ireland’s sporting organisations to manage membership, competitions, performance, facilities, ticketing, broadcast, marketing and many more functions. This programme has been designed to address the digital innovation and digital transformation needs of the sports sector providing graduates with high-level ICT skills, particularly in AI and analytics.
Who should apply?
This programme is aimed at sports, technology and business graduates who wish to pursue a career in sport and professionals already working in the sector.

Entry requirements
Applicants require a Level 8 Bachelor (Hons) degree H2.2 or equivalent. Applicants also have the option to apply using Recognition of Prior Learning according to ATU policy.

Application dates
Flexible learning courses are popular, and they fill on a first come, first served basis. There are two major intake periods throughout the academic year, September and January.
For January start courses, applications typically open in October, and for September start courses, applications typically open in February. Closing dates for applications are listed on the individual course webpage.
Duration
1.5 years full-time/part-time blended delivery.
Study Hours
There are up to 13 hours of online lectures / workshops per week in semesters 1 and 2, and a lot of self-directed activity. Lectures are generally delivered in 2 day blocks (Wed / Thurs) in the afternoon and evening.
On-Campus Attendance
Full time students are required to attend up to 4 days per semester in person. These are designed for team building, peer and industry networking and to take students to key Irish sporting infrastructure. Where possible these will be scheduled on Thursdays and Fridays.
