Course Overview

Digital technology has revolutionised how we approach sport and physical activity in recent years, and the rapid pace of change is set to continue.



In this course students will gain the knowledge and skills to audit the digital readiness of sports organisations, to identify opportunities to transform and to address the barriers or challenges to digital change. Students will also critically review trends and innovations in the global SportsTech industry.



There is a very practical focus on how leaders and organisations can develop effective digital strategies which impact culture and encourage a ‘digital mindset’.



Who Should Apply?

The course is aimed at sports professionals and leaders managing the digital evolution of their organisations and for the sportstech innovators designing solutions to meet their needs.



This programme of study will afford professionals working in sports organisations the time and frameworks to reflect on the digital needs of their department, and the tools to identify, plan and implement meaningful change in processes and efficiency. It is ideal for professionals seeking to progress in managerial roles.



For sportstech innovators, the course provides a deep dive into the sports and active living digital landscape equipping them with the insight to develop better products for this market and reflect on the digital processes within their company.



It offers a unique professional development opportunity which is university certified at post-graduate level (15ECTS) and can be used to contribute to further study in ATU or other institutions internationally.

Entry requirements

Level 8 Bachelor (Hons) degree H2.2 or equivalent. Evidence of English Language Proficiency (IELTS). Option for Recognition of Prior Learning according to ATU policy.

Application dates

Flexible learning courses are popular, and they fill on a first come, first served basis. There are two major intake periods throughout the academic year, September and January.



For January start courses, applications typically open in October, and for September start courses, applications typically open in February. Closing dates for applications are listed on the individual course webpage.

Duration

1 semester part-time online delivery.



Recommended Study Hours per week

This short part time course will be delivered completely online with high levels of peer interaction.

There are up to 6 hours of live online lectures per week for 12 weeks with additional independent learning and coursework of up to 10 hours.



On-Campus Attendance Requirement

The course is delivered completely online with optional attendance at 1-2 in person workshops or industry engagement events in the course of the semester.
