Divinity
The degree of Bachelor in Divinity is a higher degree awarded on the basis of examination and thesis. Students must complete an examination in eight papers and a thesis of 40,000 words within five years. Candidates study independently for the examination but may obtain advice and a bibliography on each subject from the School of Religion.
Is This Course For Me?
The B.D. in Divinity is aimed at those with a degree in Theology, a Divinity Testimonium, or a Professional Diploma in Theology wishing to prepare to enter the ministry or a spiritual leadership role.

Admission Requirements
Applicants must:
Hold a degree in Theology from Trinity College Dublin, or other university approved by the University Council;
OR
Hold a degree in any subject from Trinity College Dublin or other university approved by the University Council and a Divinity Testimonium or a Professional Diploma in Theology from Trinity College Dublin; OR
Hold a degree in any subject from Trinity College Dublin or other university approved by the University Council and pass a qualifying examination. Details of the qualifying examination may be obtained directly from the School of Religion.
English Language Requirements
All applicants to Trinity are required to provide official evidence of proficiency in the English language.
