About the Master of Arts in Education

The Master of Arts in Education is a Level 9 programme worth 90 ECTS credits.



The Master of Arts in Education is a two-year, part-time, fully online programme designed to meet the growing demand for flexible postgraduate training in education. It is relevant to teachers and allied professionals working in a range of settings and sectors, including early childhood, primary and post-primary education, further education, health and social care, policy development and the community and voluntary sectors.

Entry requirements

The programme has a minimum entry requirement of a Pass, or equivalent, in a bachelor’s degree at NFQ Level 8. Learners on this programme will originate from cognate disciplines, including but not limited to primary education, post-primary education and further education. Learners from disciplines with a partial alignment, such as social care, may be accepted at the discretion of the programme director, or nominee, following evaluation of individual applications.
