This flexible diploma enables you to combine modules from engineering analysis and technology management to shape a qualification that suits your career aspirations. You will broaden and deepen your understanding of professional engineering, and work collaboratively on a project module. The diploma also provides a route to a masters level engineering qualification, and can help you progress towards Chartered Engineer registration.

Modules
There are two routes through this qualification:

Route 1 is for all new students; and for students that started their studies from November 2019 or later.

Route 2 is for students that started their studies before November 2019. If you're following this route, you must complete your studies by 31 December 2023.

Entry requirements

You should normally hold a UK honours degree (or equivalent) in a subject with a high mathematics content. If you don't have an honours degree, you may still be able to study this qualification by demonstrating your ability to study at postgraduate level – contact us.

Your spoken and written English must be of an adequate standard for postgraduate study. If English is not your first language, we recommend that you will need a minimum overall score of 6 and minimum score of 5.5 in each of the four components: reading, writing, speaking and listening under the International English Language Testing System (IELTS). Our badged open course, Succeeding in postgraduate study, will introduce you to the nature of Master's level study. It offers essential preparation for pursuing your learning at this level – and is free.

• Most students complete this qualification in three years.
• The minimum time you may take to complete this qualification is two and a half years.
• The maximum time you may take to complete is eight years.
