International Accounting with Management
The MSc in International Accounting with Management is designed for two types of graduates thus providing a flexible approach to potential
students to maximise their accounting exemptions from professional bodies such as Chartered Accountants Ireland (CAI) and the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA). For students with no Accounting at undergraduate level, it will provide them with a thorough grounding in Accounting and give them valuable experience on placement. For students with some Accounting, it will serve as a mechanism for them to attain further accounting exemptions and gain valuable experience on placement. For both groups of students, the exposure to concepts in Management will be helpful as they progress towards a career in Accounting.
The programme is developed with a mix of module delivery mechanisms. The Accounting related exemptions modules are delivered during the week whereas the MI coded modules in Business are delivered in block format. The programme is designed for two different markets. Where a potential student has no accounting exemptions, then they can take a suite of modules to maximise exemptions. Where a student has some accounting knowledge, they can take the modules they need to get further exemptions and broaden their business knowledge. All students take some core Management modules. The final twenty credits are a Placement where students get four days of classroom contact and then work on
an approved placement in Accounting.
