International Management
This is a unique dual degree with graduates awarded an MSc in International Management from UCD Smurfit School and a Masters in International Management (MIM) from CEMS.

In 2022 the Smurfit MSc in International Management programme was ranked 8th in the world by the Financial Times Masters in Management Global Ranking.
TThe CEMS Masters in International Management is devised by both academic and business leaders, bridging university education and business expertise, thus offering keen insight into management best practices via seminars, core courses, electives, language teaching and internships. This course is targeted at graduates with a business/economics background, fluency in English and another language (plus a third language at a beginner level to be developed through the year), excellent interpersonal skills, as well as the ambition to become international business managers and leaders.
With a mandatory semester abroad, international networking events, a diverse range of nationalities in class and a high percentage of graduates expatriating upon recruitment, the course provides the ultimate international springboard.

The UCD CEMS MIM course provides a direct bridge between the academic and corporate worlds, combining the top-level academic theory of leading academics from the member schools and in-the-field expertise of corporate partners of the CEMS alliance. This course provides the graduate with:
1) The academic knowledge and practical skills required to operate within global businesses and multinational teams.
2) A vision of responsible business decision-making, leadership and global citizenship that is informed by ethical reasoning, personal integrity and respect for social diversity.
3) An awareness of different cultures, schools of thought and ways of doing business, via a semester spent abroad in a CEMS member school, an international internship and constant interaction with the corporate world during the course via the CEMS Business Project, Skill Seminars and other corporate events.

Subjects taught
This multi-faceted course comprises an introductory block seminar, two CEMS core modules, plus a number of option modules across a range of areas. Option modules enable students to deepen their knowledge in a specific domain or acquire a broad set of competencies. Other requirements comprise a business project, skills seminars, a ten-week international internship and the Business Research Insights Paper as part of the course. With any possible internship opportunity students have to go through a competitive recruitment process, including interviews with employers, to be selected.

Entry requirements
Please review the entry requirements below. The UCD Smurfit Admissions Office staff have expertise in reviewing international qualifications from around the world and will be able to assess your application's comparability to the Irish entry requirement.
A minimum second-class honours (Grade 1) degree (or equivalent) in Business/Economics or a related discipline.
And
Fluency in English and one other language. Preference will be given to candidates with 3+ languages.
And
You must submit two letters of recommendation as part of your application (Academic or Employer recommendations only).
In addition to the above academic requirements, you also need to demonstrate the following:

• A strong desire to achieve and leadership potential
• Integrity
As part of the admissions process, you will be required to attend an interview.

Step 1: Collating Documentation
The first step is to collate the required documentation needed to assess your application. Please ensure that you have clearly scanned, titled and collated your documents in numerical order.

The University is adopting a new document verification process from 1st September 2022. As a result of this, all documents will be verified online only from your application. Should additional documentation be required from you, we shall contact you no later than 31st December 2022, otherwise no further action is required

• CV
Please include an updated CV detailing all relevant work experience and extra-curricular activity. It is useful to demonstrate leadership skills.
• English Language Test
If English is not your first language, an English language qualification is required for admission to all of our programmes. The exception to this rule is if you have completed your primary degree or an entire third level qualification through English, in an English speaking country. • References
Two references are generally required, preferably one academic and one professional.

Step 2: The Application Process
Once you have collated the required documentation and reviewed the entry requirements for your programme of interest, you can now apply online.
Apply Online
You must apply online using our dedicated student information portal. You will be required to enter contact details, upload your documents and answer two essay questions (each approximately 300 words). We would ask that you seriously consider both essays and answer these in the context of the programme you are applying to. Try to not replicate your CV and demonstrate what makes you different from other applicants. There are no right or wrong ways to complete these essays.
Application Deadlines:
Applications are assessed on a rolling basis and courses will close once they are filled. We advise you to apply as early as possible to avoid disappointment. Please note certain scholarships may require you to apply before a certain date – please refer to our scholarship page. Application Fee
You will then be asked to submit your application and pay the €50 application fee. No application can be assessed until the fee has been paid. You can apply for multiple programmes with the one application fee, but please be sure to mark your preferred course.
Application Review
Once submitted, it usually takes 2-3 weeks before a decision is made on fully completed applications. This time period can sometimes be longer and can vary at different times in the year and in different regions. We may offer you a conditional place based on the completion of a number of criteria, such as degree, English test, or another qualification. This reserves you a place on the course and once you have fulfilled this criteria we will issue you a full offer.
Deposit
Acceptance is completed by paying a non-refundable deposit (varies from either €500 or €1000 depending on the programme. Most of our programmes require a €500 deposit). Your offer email will detail the exact deposit amount required. Once you have accepted you will then be supported by the Programme Office who will contact you with further course and start details.
