Leadership - Athlone / Online

The MSc in Leadership is a year long programme for established and emerging leaders who wish to develop their leadership capabilities for positive impacts in their teams, organisations, and communities.



Learners will develop a depth and breath of knowledge around contemporary leadership theory and practice to equip them with the insight and skills required to operate and lead in an organisational or community setting.



The programme team bring significant industry and academic experience to support participants to translate leadership concepts into practice by applying the ideas and frameworks to current challenges faced within their own contexts.



A central feature of the programme is the creation of a learning environment that is collaborative, flexible, learner centered and applied.



Lectures take place online over two evenings per week and learners will also participate in at least 2 in-person Saturday workshops on the Athlone campus in each semester.



This programme will support those who are currently in leadership roles and wish to refine their leadership skills and styles as well as those who are transitioning into leadership roles. For example:



Established business leaders who want to create more impact and engagement in their organisations.

Emerging leaders who may want to transition from a functional or professional role into a leadership role.

Managers/Leaders who are interested in promotional opportunities or more senior positions.

Dynamic Leadership: Navigating Modern Challenges Credits: 10

Strategic Leadership Credits: 10

The Inclusive Leader Credits: 10



Year 1 – Semester 3

Applied Leadership Project Credits: 30

Entry requirements

A minimum of a 2.2 honours degree (level 8 or equivalent) in business, leadership, HR or a related discipline and a minimum of 3 years’ relevant (management / leadership) experience.



Non-native English speakers are required to have a minimum IELTS level of 6.5 or equivalent.



An interview may form part of the selection process.

1 year, part-time, blended.

Further Study

On successful completion of this programme graduates will have the opportunity to progress to level 10 doctoral programmes.
