Music Technology
It offers full use of computer resources at the Music Technology Labs at Maynooth University; access to studio space, with the possibility of working towards recording and production projects; expert advice on musical and technical issues is provided by composers and researchers at the cutting edge of their fields.
Subjects taught
The course is structured around a number of options covering all aspects of Music Technology from acoustics to computer programming, including audio signal processing, synthesis and recording engineering. Foreign language instruction is also available through the Maynooth University Language Centre.

Entry requirements
Applicants must have a recognised primary degree which is considered equivalent to Irish university primary degree level, with a III Class Honours as a minimum (or equivalent). Students with a primary degree other than Music would normally have to demonstrate some degree of musical training and affinity. Candidates will be called for an interview.
Minimum English language requirements:
Applicants for whom English is not their first language are required to demonstrate their proficiency in English in order to benefit fully from their course of study. The requirements specified are applicable for both EU and International applicants..

Fees
In general, there are two levels of fees payable. EU students from EU countries including Ireland pay a subsidised level of fees for both taught courses and research programmes. Tuition fees for students from outside the EU are not subsidised and are thus somewhat higher than for EU students.
