Professional Practice - Professional Management of Complex Behaviour in Clinical Practice
DkIT has in partnership with the HSE and others, consulted widely with, clinical, professional, and regulatory bodies, and worked collaboratively in the preparation of the proposed programme in the Professional Management of Complex Behaviours in Clinical Practice (CBCP) which will prepare students to provide training in line with contemporary person-centred, trauma-informed and recovery-oriented best practice.

Entry requirements
Applicants must have a minimum of 2 years post registration experience.
Applicants who do not have a level 8 qualification may apply for entry to the programme in accordance with the procedures outlined in the DkIT Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) policy. Applicants may be interviewed.
Graduates of the DkIT BSc in Professional Management of Aggression and Violence programme may apply for exemptions to undertake this programme in line with DkIT recognition of prior certified learning.
Applicants must complete and submit the Employer Support form in support of their application and agreeing to facilitate the learner’s teaching practice
Applicants must have successfully completed and have certification for the duration of the programme in the following: Basic Life Support; Manual Handling; First Aid
Applicants must be in good health and complete a health declaration prior to commencing the programme
Due to the blended learning delivery within this course students should have access to a PC / Mac, a headset with a mic, and a broadband internet connection from home, so as to be able to fully participate in the course
Duration
1.5 - 2 years, part-time, blended.
Virtual delivery via live on line lectures each Wednesday. Students are also required to attend for on site workshops in each semester.

Those graduating from the Certificate in Professional Practice: Professional Management of Complex Behaviour in Clinical Practice award option will have specific skills and knowledge to provide training to others to assist them in preserving their personal safety while safely and effectively managing a range of manifestations of verbal and physical aggression and in the safe provision of patient care.
Education Progression
Graduates from the MSc in Professional Practice: Professional Management of Complex Behaviour in Clinical Practice will have specific skills and knowledge to practice at an advanced level incorporating key concepts such as advanced decision making, professional leadership, evidence-based practice, professional ethics and research knowledge and skills. Graduates from the MSc in Professional Practice: Professional Management of Complex Behaviour in Clinical Practice programme will have achieved the outcomes necessary for study at NFQ level 10
