Promoting Healthy Behaviours - Micro-credential

This module introduces students to the relationship between behaviours and health, particular focus is on the areas of nutrition, physical activity, smoking, sexual health and substance use. Module content involves group work and uses problem-based learning techniques. Students are asked to contribute to a team identifying issues and presenting evidence for interventions relevant to health related behaviours. In groups students are facilitated in conducting self directed learning to examine the relationship between 'lifestyle' behaviours and health within the context of wider determinants of health. The course engages students in examining the evidence base, practice and policy for issues relevant to individual behaviours with particular focus on areas such as nutrition, physical activity, smoking, sexual health or substance use.

Entry requirements

Applicants must be over 21 years of age. A Level 8 undergraduate qualification or equivalent is required, 1-4 years relevant work-experience is recommended. Applications can be considered using Recognition of Prior Learning.
