Responsible Entrepreneurship

The aim of the MBS in Responsible Entrepreneurship is to help students to develop skills for responsible new venture creation in areas linked to the UN SDGs, creating businesses that are responsible, sustainable and of benefit to society. In addition students will develop the relevant entrepreneurial and responsibility awareness skills that they can apply in a sustainability/responsibility role within existing businesses, helping industry deal with its responsibility challenges.

This programme is available on a one year full-time basis. Graduates should also be capable of pursuing further studies to Ph.D. level.

This programme is subject to successful validation.

This programme will be delivered in blended mode. This will mean that except for the Incubation module, delivery will be mostly online with attendance required on campus for face-to-face delivery on one day per week per module.

The programme will commence with a two-day kick-off residential & induction session at the lead partner’s campus (DkIT, Dundalk) where learners will be inducted into the programme, meet the team, and make a start on the first module – Entrepreneurial Competence. Thereafter, each module will be assigned 24 hours of ‘contact’ delivery, with six hours being delivered in a one-day block and the remainder being delivered collaboratively online.

Esteemed academics from Babson College USA (i.e. Prof. Candida Brush and Prof. William Garner) and the EU Start-For-Future programme (Prof. Klaus Sailer, Prof. Slavica Singer, and Prof Magnus Klofsten) will be invited to provide inspiring keynote presentations.

Virtual Reality (VR) Teaching will be utilised during the delivery of the programme. Through VR, students will engage in realistic business simulations, allowing them to experiment with decision-making in a risk-free environment. They can virtually attend meetings, negotiate deals, and manage operations, gaining practical skills and insights. In addition, the “Pitch” practice for Dragons Den will take place in partners’ incubation centres.

Residential

The residential will be held at the beginning of semester 1, in Dundalk Co. Louth. This immersive residential experience will serve as the catalyst for the programme's commencement, inducting students into the programme, igniting students’ entrepreneurial spirit and setting the stage for their transformative responsible learning journey. It is here that students will be introduced to the REsPoNSE team, undergo induction, learn about the various academic and well-being supports available to them, discuss their career plans, and begin their responsible entrepreneurial transformation.
