Designed by TUS and delivered in partnership with Universities in Holland, Spain and Belgium this Masters produces graduates who can work in one of the fastest and rapidly evolving sectors globally. This programme is run in collaboration with the Association of European Research Centres (EUREC).

Semester 3

Research Project/Thesis Credits: 30

Students undertake a thesis based on a real world project, typically involving the student working with a company. The student gains practical or research experience through a project undertaken in an industry, a research laboratory or at the university. A wide variety of projects can be proposed and it gives flexibility to the student and the project provider to define the project. The student is welcome to propose his/her own project.

Entry requirements

All candidates must posess one of the following:



Level 8 Bachelor’s (honours) degree in a cognate area.

Considerable relevant experience that is deemed equivalent to the academic admission requirements, evidenced by an RPL portfolio of prior experience and learning.

Equivalent Qualifications. Applicants with equivalent qualifications on the European and International frameworks will also be considered.

All candidates must satisfy the language requirements of their chosen Core Provider and meet a minimum standard of English. International learners must provide evidence of proficiency in the English language for example IELTS: 6.5 minimum with not less than 6.0 in Reading, Listening, Speaking or Writing.

All students should apply directly through EUREC website who then engage with TUS who evaluate the applications.



The application process for 24/25 opens on 15/01/2024. Applications will be assessed on a rolling basis until 15 July 2024.

Non-EU students must apply before 1st May 2024.



Both selected and non-selected students will be notified about the decision, at the latest, by the beginning of September.

The growing role of the Energy System Manager suggests that Energy System Management graduates can expect to find careers in Energy; consultancy, design, contracting, project and maintenance, team leading, facilities and resource management, energy auditing, equipment testing & commissioning, and research and development with; energy suppliers, energy service companies, local authorities, manufacturers, and energy solution providers.

Upon successful completion of this programme, graduates have the opportunity to complete Level 9/10 programmes here at TUS or elsewhere.
