Teaching, Learning & Assessment
This course is designed to support participants to adopt an inquiry-based approach to exploring challenges in teaching and learning in higher education. Participants will examine their pedagogy, practice and develop practical and practice skills to take into their learning environment. They will investigate aspects of teaching and learning that are particularly relevant to their role as professional educators, inclusive of programme development, delivery and assessment.

Entry requirements
Honours degree (Level 8), with evidence of a 2.2 grade or higher.
The programme is intended for those currently engaged with teaching, tutoring or training groups of students/ participants in the University and could, therefore, review their courses/ programmes and look for evidence of student learning. The minimum academic entry requirement is an undergraduate degree or equivalent. For Professional Staff - As an integral component of assessments involves inclusive improvements that are captured within the feedback process, the applicant’s Head of Department must identify an academic for the participant to link with to access students. This form must be signed by the HoD and included as part of the application process.
Recognition of Prior Learning: Yes.

When to Apply
Flexible learning courses are popular, and they fill on a first come, first served basis. There are two major intake periods throughout the academic year, September and January.
For January start courses, applications typically open in October, and for September start courses, applications typically open in February. Closing dates for applications are listed on the individual course webpages.

Duration
1 year part-time online delivery.
Study Hours
The programme consists of a weekly on-line lecture and tutorial. As this programme is delivered to academics and professionals in full time employment, lectures are recorded and uploaded to the class Moodle page at the beginning of the week which allows opportunity for students to listen to the lecture at times suitable to their work- load. Tutorials are live on Thursday evenings at 7pm.
