Activity Leader - SEDA Summer School Galway 2026
SEDA College is an accredited Irish English language school with summer programmes in Galway and Limerick. Our Galway Summer School runs from 30 June to 11 August 2026 at Yeats College, with students living at Queen Street Place (Mezzino), opposite Eyre Square.
Activity Leaders are the people who make the summer happen. You will lead and supervise afternoon and evening activities, weekend excursions to the Cliffs of Moher, Connemara and the Aran Islands, and the weekly social programme - including Wednesday Trad Nights in Galway's best traditional music pubs.
Students are international juniors aged 13-18, mainly from Italy, Spain and Brazil.
What you'll do:
- Lead afternoon and evening activities at the residence and around Galway
- Run weekend excursions with full supervision
- Take headcounts at every transition - departure, arrival, lunch, return
- Support students with everyday welfare - homesickness, pastoral care
- Run curfew headcounts (22:00) and welfare walks (22:30) on evening shifts
- Attend the daily staff huddle at 08:00 when on shift
Who we're looking for:
- Energetic, confident and genuinely good with teenagers
- Reliable and organised - student safety is your priority
- Willing to work shifts including evenings and weekends
- Strong written and spoken English
- Right to work in Ireland
- Willing to obtain Garda vetting before start date
A strong plus:
- Experience in summer schools, camps, youth work, sports coaching or scouting
- Italian, Spanish or Portuguese language skills
- First aid certification
