Afterschool Childcare Assistant
We are seeking a caring, enthusiastic, and creative
Afterschool Childcare Assistant to join our team from 31 August at our
city centre primary school.
This is a rewarding opportunity
for someone who enjoys working with primary school children and is passionate
about creating a safe, happy, and engaging afterschool environment.
This role would suit a childcare
worker looking for part-time hours, students studying childcare or education,
or someone seeking a position that fits around family, study, or other
commitments.
About the Role
The successful candidate will help
provide a positive and nurturing experience for children after school.
Responsibilities will include:
- Supervising children after school.
- Supporting homework and quiet activities.
- Organising games, crafts, and other fun activities.
- Assisting with snacks.
- Promoting a safe, positive, and welcoming
environment for all children.
Requirements
- Fluent in English.
- A caring, enthusiastic, and reliable individual
with a genuine love of working with children. - A positive attitude and the ability to engage
children through play and activities. - Willingness to undergo Garda Vetting.
- Previous childcare experience and/or a relevant
childcare qualification (e.g. QQI Level is desirable but not essential.
Position Details
- Location: City centre primary school.
- Pay: €14–€16 per hour, depending on experience and
qualifications. - Contract: Term-time only.
- Start Date: 31 August.
The afterschool service
operates:
- Monday: 3.30 pm – 6.00 pm
- Tuesday: 3.30 pm – 6.00 pm
- Wednesday: 2.00 pm – 6.00 pm
- Thursday: 3.30 pm – 6.00 pm
- Friday: 3.30 pm – 6.00 pm
The successful candidate(s) must be
available to work two of these five afternoons each week. Working days will be
agreed before the start date, and a regular schedule will be put in place.
