We have exciting opportunities for Apprentice Electricians and E & I Technicians to join Hivar Engineering.

Electrical Apprentices - What you will be doing?

You will be learning and developing new and practical craft-related skills, knowledge and competence with focus on Medium and High Voltage work.

• Assemble, install, test and maintain electrical wiring, equipment, appliances, apparatus and fixtures, using hand tools and power tools.
• Diagnose malfunctioning systems, switchgear, and components, using test equipment and hand tools, to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem.
• Wiring and testing switchgear panels.
• Inspect electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair, and to ensure compliance with codes
• Advise management on whether continued operation of equipment could be hazardous.
• Test electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures, using testing devices such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, and oscilloscopes, to ensure compatibility and safety of system.
• Site maintenance of customer switchgear and transformers.

Experience/Qualification Criteria

• Minimum O5 in Leaving Certificate Maths.(Electrical, higher for E & I)
• Year 2+ of apprenticeship
• Ideally with up-to-date Safe Pass and Manual Handling Training Certifications.
• Interest in Mechanical or Electrical systems
• Enthusiastic team player with a positive attitude. Good work ethic and solutions focused.
• Appreciate the importance of adherence to all safety regulations. Safety First at all times.
