Assistant
Opportunity Description:Landing Pad is a private, family-led property initiative seeking an independent student assistant (from a spatial design, architecture, or landscape planning discipline) for a paid 2D CAD layout assignment. The primary purpose of this project is layout reconfiguration and space optimization across both our immediate domestic home and a commercial multi-unit residential plot. The student will treat the pre-designed blueprints like a chess board—moving structures, boundaries, and green spaces into an optimal, council-compliant 2D layout. Please note: All core engineering and structural designs are already finalized by our lead architect; no 3D rendering or complex structural calculations are required at this stage.Project Scope:
- Phase 1 (Domestic Home Optimization): Collaborative space-planning to map layout variations for a primary living area extension, a master bedroom en-suite integration, and an open-plan kitchen-living wall reconfiguration.
- Phase 2 (Commercial Estate Blueprint): Reconfiguring a 15m x 30m rear garden plot to cleanly integrate a uniform row of 6 relocated storage garages, a commuter bicycle locker hub, and 6 to 8 vehicle parking spaces utilising grass-grid pavers.
- Phase 3 (Symmetrical Replication Runway): Duplicating the exact rectangular footprint of our existing building block and mirroring it onto the right-hand triangular plot, while ensuring a high-quality green courtyard corridor is preserved for long-term expansion.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD or similar 2D drafting platforms to overlay revisions onto our existing PDF site plans.
- A brief, on-site walkthrough with the owners to cross-reference physical site lines and dimensions.
- Delivery of a clean, flat, colored 2D master layout plan.
- Remuneration:
Fixed project fee of €200 – €350 (dependent on minor layout iterations), structured across clean milestone payments. For the right individual, this initial assignment offers an excellent opportunity to stay on in a rolling, long-term freelance support role as the portfolio moves toward construction.
