Assistant Accountant

Role OverviewThe Assistant Accountant is a key role within the Group Finance function, supporting day-to-dayfinancial operations across multiple group entities and contributing to both financial andmanagement reporting. The role offers exposure across financial accounting, month-end close,cashflow and management accounts. The successful candidate will be detail-oriented, organisedand capable of managing multiple responsibilities to tight deadlines while maintaining highstandards of accuracy and confidentiality.
Key ResponsibilitiesFinancial Accounting & Month-End• Support preparation of nominal accounts to trial balance stage• Prepare journals with supporting documentation• Maintain fixed asset registers, depreciation and prepayment schedules• Assist with month-end close and year-end audit preparationAccounts Payable, Accounts Receivable & Cash• Process supplier invoices, payments and reconciliations• Support customer invoicing and cash allocations• Assist with cashflow and credit control reportingManagement Accounting & Business Support• Support preparation of monthly management accounts• Assist with budgeting, cost analysis and variance review• Work with business units to provide financial insightGeneral & Team Support• Work closely with the wider finance team and group stakeholders• Support compliance with internal controls and policies• Maintain strict confidentiality of financial information
Candidate Requirements
Essential• Third-level qualification in Accounting, Finance or related discipline• Strong attention to detail and organisational skills• Ability to manage multiple deadlines• Strong communication skills and collaborative approach

Desirable• Pursuing a professional accountancy qualification• Experience in a group or multi-entity environment• Strong Excel and financial systems skills
