OCF Project Management is currently seeking an experienced Business Development Manager (BDM) or a senior sales and marketing professional with a proven background in the construction consultancy sector. The successful candidate will play a key role in identifying new business opportunities, developing client relationships, and driving growth across multiple service areas.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify new opportunities: Research and target potential growth areas and revenue streams across services such as Architecture, Design Certification, Assigned Certification, PSDP, Quantity Surveying, and Fire Engineering.
  • Generate leads: Proactively pursue new business through networking, market research, and direct outreach.
  • Develop proposals: Prepare and deliver tailored presentations and proposals to prospective clients.
  • Manage client relationships: Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, ensuring client satisfaction and repeat business.
  • Market awareness: Stay informed on industry trends, competitor activities, and market positioning to support business planning.
  • Collaborate internally: Work closely with internal teams and support bid submissions through eTenders and other procurement platforms.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Relevant third-level qualification preferred, ideally in Architecture or Engineering.
  • 3-7 years of experience in sales, business development, or account management, with a strong record of achieving sales targets.
  • Training or certification in bid/proposal writing (e.g., APMP) is an advantage.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and influence key decision-makers.
  • Strategic thinker with strong self-motivation and leadership qualities.
  • Proficiency in IT systems, CRM tools, and reporting. Commercial acumen and analytical ability are essential.
  • Experience in a live office environment.
  • Familiarity with architectural and consultancy services.
  • Knowledge of public sector procurement platforms (e.g., eTenders).
  • Understanding of bid processes and proposal best practices.

Career Progression
This role offers significant growth potential, with opportunities to advance to Senior Business Development Manager or Director level. High performers may also progress into strategic leadership roles or consultancy positions.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: €50,000.00-€60,000.00 per year
