Country Director
The role
You will build a national branch of Equal Education Foundation from zero - the same job our founder did to build the Polish branch. You own your country. Concretely, you will:
Win donors. Identify and secure local companies (ed-tech, test-prep, language apps, course-makers) that will donate course access. This is your first and hardest job - you are offering them a partnership (media, word-of-mouth, association with an award-winning cause), not asking for charity.
Build a team. Recruit, onboard and coordinate a local team of 5-8 volunteers.
Reach children. Build relationships with orphanages and social-care centres, and manage direct applications from families in genuine need. Your relationship is with the institutions, not with individual children.
Get into the media. Local and national press coverage is a core function - it spreads the mission and is your single strongest argument when asking a company to donate.
Run distribution. Get donated access codes to children through partner institutions and keep clean records.
Report monthly. One short form. The one number that matters is beneficiaries - children who received course access through your branch.
You run your country and make your own day-to-day calls. You do not need permission for normal operations.
Who this is for
People who finish what they start, work without being chased, and are comfortable being told "no" by twenty companies before the twenty-first says yes. You are reliable, comfortable with outreach, and motivated to build something real rather than collect a title. If that is not you, this role will frustrate you - and it is better to know that now.
The honest deal
This is a real job, but we are a young, volunteer-run organisation and this is an unpaid, volunteer position. What you get is real: full ownership of a country, genuine leadership and outreach experience, and - once you hit the bar - the title of Country Director plus a metric-based recommendation letter from the founder that names the actual numbers you built (e.g. "grew our branch from zero to 1,200 children reached in 9 months"). That specificity is exactly what makes the letter worth something for university and job applications.
You start as Country Lead. When your branch reaches 1,000 beneficiaries it becomes a mature branch and you become Country Director, with your recommendation letter unlocked. The role is remote-friendly, with no fixed hours - what matters is output, not time logged.
