Role Overview
The UCC Library
internship programme has been created to ensure the active engagement of
students in the further development of library services. The programme offers
UCC students an exciting opportunity to gain paid work experience in an
academic library environment.
Under the general
direction of an experienced professional supervisor, the Intern will acquire
hands-on experience in a particular discipline within the library
environment. They will work with staff from across the Library team,
engage with library clients and work collaboratively on an assigned
project.
Project
details
This project requires two
interns to work with Head of Digital Projects on development of the first phase
of the Library Business Dashboard. Interns will gain experience working in both
data and visualisation layers in SharePoint Lists, Power Query, and Power BI,
as well as engaging directly with stakeholders to develop project and client
management skills. This work will provide collaborative, practical exposure to
end-to-end delivery in a live organisational context: collaborating across
roles, managing shared and version-controlled assets, refining
audience-specific visual storytelling, working with imperfect data, and
iterating toward a defined outcome under real stakeholder constraints.
