We are seeking a highly motivated and ambitious individual who demonstrate strong organizational skills and a pro-active attitude. A Snapshot Of Your Peer Group
- Degree qualified – BSc or MSc – in Quantity Surveying, Cost Management, Building Services Engineering, or a related field
- Understanding a variety of project types/sizes/sectors, including Mission Critical, Healthcare, Education, Commercial, and Residential
- Familiarity with RIAI and GCCC standard forms of contract
- Proven ability to advise clients and design teams on procurement, cost, value, and risk, especially relating to M&E elements
- Highly motivated and keen to learn, with developing organisational skills and a strong interest in construction and M&E cost management
- Pro-active attitude with the ability to work effectively as part of a team and under guidance
- Good written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to assist in report preparation
- Strong computer literacy, with experience using Microsoft Office and a willingness to learn industry software
Responsibilities
- Assisting senior team members with feasibility studies and the preparation of procurement reports, with a particular focus on M&E systems.
- Supporting the preparation of M&E cost estimates and cost plans, including contributing to draft and final M&E cost plans.
- Assisting with the measurement and take-off of quantities for M&E elements using drawings and specifications.
- Supporting the tendering and procurement of M&E works, including assistance with pre-qualification and tender documentation.
- Assisting with the administration of post-contract M&E cost control processes, including tracking cost variations and change control items.
- Supporting cost checks and interim valuations for M&E works on projects, under the guidance of senior cost managers.
- Assisting in the preparation of monthly post-contract M&E cost reports and contributing to client reporting.
- Supporting value engineering and cost optimisation exercises for M&E systems.
- Assisting with the preparation and agreement of final accounts for M&E packages, under supervision.
- Liaising with clients, contractors, and other consultants as required, gaining exposure to all project stages with a focus on M&E elements
