Are you Graduate Quantity Surveyor looking to kickstart your career with a growing and dynamic company?

Rockwell are seeking a Graduate Quantity Surveyor to join our team on a fulltime and permanent basis.

Reporting to the Commercial Manager, the Graduate Quantity Surveyor will work on our projects, receiving training and mentorship from our experienced team members. This role will be supported by and offer support to the wider QS team.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist the QS team in reviewing project specifications, drawings, and documentation to understand project scope and requirements.
  • Prepare accurate cost estimates for Mechanical and HVAC projects using estimating software and industry tools.
  • Support the development of competitive bid and tender submissions in collaboration with the estimating team.
  • Assist in sourcing and evaluating vendors and subcontractors based on cost competitiveness, reliability, and project requirements.
  • Monitor industry trends, market conditions, and emerging technologies to improve estimating accuracy and efficiency.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of estimating processes by incorporating feedback and lessons learned from completed projects.
  • Collaborate with Project Managers, Engineers, Procurement teams, clients, and subcontractors to ensure effective communication and successful project delivery.

Essential Qualifications, Knowledge and Skills Experience:

  • Possess a relevant 3rd level qualification in quantity Surveying, or a related field
  • Strong academic background with a passion for quantity surveying and the construction industry
  • Basic knowledge of construction contracts, procurement methods, and cost management principles
  • Have an interest in working within the Construction industry
  • Have strong commercial awareness
  • Be comfortable in your use of Microsoft Office, with the ability to generate detailed monthly reports
  • Be conscientious, have excellent attention to detail and an ability to multitask
  • Have a positive attitude with a passion to learn & succeed, an energetic approach and an ability to take accountability
  • The ability to contribute comfortably as part of a team
