Health & Safety Compliance Coordinator
The opportunity
This is a development opportunity for a
recent graduate, final-year student nearing completion, or early-career
professional who wants to build practical experience in health, safety and
operational compliance within a food manufacturing environment.
You will work alongside experienced
operations and quality colleagues, gaining exposure to risk assessment,
training, incident follow-up, environmental controls, maintenance records and
digital compliance systems. You will not be expected to arrive as the finished
expert. We are looking for someone with sound foundation knowledge, strong
organisation and the confidence to learn on the job.
Role purpose
Support the site in maintaining safe,
compliant and well-organised operations. Help keep records current, follow up
actions, coordinate routine compliance activity and contribute ideas that make
systems simpler and more effective. The role will initially focus on health and
safety compliance, with broader exposure to environmental and maintenance
coordination as experience grows.
What you will do

progress.
·
Help maintain the site register
of legal requirements, inspections, licences and renewal dates.
·
Complete routine workplace
inspections and raise any concerns with the appropriate manager.
·
Assist with contractor records,
permits to work and controls for higher-risk tasks.
·
Support fire and emergency
arrangements, including drills and action tracking.

Prepare clear safety updates
and basic reports for management.
Environmental & Site Compliance
·
Help record and report waste,
energy and water information.

Maintain organised records for
environmental permits, chemical controls and hazardous materials.

Assist in preparing documents
for inspections, audits and customer information requests.
·
Monitor relevant updates with
guidance from management and help translate them into site actions.
Maintenance & Equipment Records
·
Coordinate service records,
asset registers, inspection dates and planned-maintenance schedules.
·
Follow up with internal teams
and approved contractors to ensure routine actions are documented and closed.
·
Maintain calibration schedules
for scales, temperature probes and product-detection equipment.
·
Support record-keeping for pest
control, refrigeration and other site services.
·
Assist with simple analysis of
recurring equipment issues and improvement actions. Technical repairs will
remain with suitably qualified personnel or contractors.
Systems & Improvement
·
Keep compliance records
accurate, accessible and audit-ready.
·
Help move manual and
paper-based records into practical digital systems.
·
Produce simple trackers and
dashboards using Microsoft Office tools.
·
Contribute ideas that improve
safety, reliability and day-to-day ways of working.
What we are looking for
Essential
·
A relevant qualification, or
nearing completion of one, in health and safety, environmental health,
engineering, food science, manufacturing, quality, sustainability or a related
discipline.
·
A basic understanding of
workplace health and safety principles and a genuine interest in developing a
career in compliance.
·
Strong organisation, attention
to detail and confidence maintaining records and following actions through.
·
Clear communication skills and
a practical, collaborative approach with colleagues on the production floor.
·
Comfort using Microsoft Office,
particularly Word and Excel.
·
Willingness to learn, ask
questions and speak up when something may be unsafe.
Helpful, but not required
·
Placement, project or part-time
experience in manufacturing, food production, engineering, quality or health
and safety.
·
Awareness of Irish health and
safety legislation, ISO 45001 or ISO 14001.
·
Experience with risk
assessments, audits, training records, data analysis or digital record systems.
·
Interest in equipment
reliability, sustainability or continuous improvement.
Development and progression
The initial scope will be matched to the
successful candidate’s experience. Training and guidance will be provided, with
responsibility increasing as competence and confidence develop. Progression may
include greater ownership of compliance systems, audits, reporting, improvement
projects and selected areas of site coordination. Salary reviews can be
considered as the role expands and agreed development milestones are achieved.
