Healthcare Assistant – Galway
Nightingale Home Care Services (NHCS) is seeking compassionate, reliable and dedicated Healthcare Assistants to join our growing team in Galway.
As a Healthcare Assistant, you will provide person-centred care and support to individuals based on their assessed needs, helping them maintain their independence, dignity, well-being and quality of life.
Key Responsibilities
- Support clients with personal care and activities of daily living.
- Assist with mobility and promote independence wherever possible.
- Provide companionship and emotional support.
- Support clients with community integration and meaningful activities.
- Assist with meal preparation and other day-to-day needs as required.
- Follow individual care plans and provide support according to each client's needs and preferences.
- Observe and report any changes in a client's condition or well-being to the appropriate person.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation as required.
- Respect the dignity, privacy, choice and confidentiality of every client.
- Follow all relevant health and safety, infection prevention and safeguarding procedures.
- Work collaboratively with clients, families and other members of the care team.
Requirements
- QQI Level 5 in Healthcare Support, or equivalent/relevant healthcare qualification.
- Previous healthcare experience is desirable.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Compassionate, respectful and person-centred approach to care.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Flexibility to work according to service requirements.
- Valid right to work in Ireland.
- Garda Vetting and relevant compliance requirements must be completed prior to commencement.
