About our group:

The Springtown Manufacturing Product Integration team is responsible for supporting new product development, technology integration, and the successful transfer of products from development into manufacturing. The team plays a critical role in aligning product requirements, wafer process capability, downstream feedback, and manufacturing readiness to enable stable ramp, robust performance, yield improvement, and cost-effective execution across HAMR technologies.

About the role - you will:

Reporting to the MPI Director or Manager, the Integration Product Engineer is responsible for supporting new product development and product integration activity across wafer product codes, process changes, build learning cycles, and technology transitions. The role ensures that product requirements, process capability, downstream requirements, and manufacturing readiness are understood, aligned, and effectively managed as products move toward release and volume ramp.


The position plays a key role in coordinating technical reviews, managing product builds, translating downstream and build feedback into actionable wafer learning, and supporting successful transition into the released manufacturing environment. The role works closely with Development, Process Engineering, Quality, Operations, Design and other downstream teams to ensure new products are introduced, qualified and launched to deliver to Seagate Springtown's new product requirement.

You will

 •    Create new wafer product qualification plans and track progress with key stakeholders across, operations, process, design and downstream core teams.
•    Support new product development and integration activity from early build learning through manufacturing release and ramp readiness.
•    Coordinate cross-functional technical reviews to align product requirements, wafer process capability, downstream feedback, and manufacturing readiness.
•    Support material tracking, prioritisation categorization, product configurations, and allocation of material to enable build execution, experimental learning plans, and downstream customer qual and initial ramp requirements.
•    Lead or support wafer-related root cause investigations arising from new product builds, downstream feedback, or product performance excursions.
•    Use data analysis techniques to identify product performance improvements, support wafer related root cause investigations, risks and complete critical build reviews.
•    Project Manage tasks and priorities based on new product qualifications, technology modules, build schedules, and manufacturing requirements.
•    Develop new innovations both in new product technology launch and new business processes to accelerate new product deployments and qualifications at Springtown  

About you:

•    Technical background with an interest in new product development, product integration, manufacturing performance, and new technologies.
•    Excellent analytical, data analysis, and problem-solving skills.
•    Comfortable making data-based decisions under pressure while balancing technical risk, build priorities, and business needs.
•    Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities, actions, interfaces, and stakeholders.
•    Strong communicator who can influence across development, manufacturing, quality, operations, and downstream technical forums.
•    Proactive, accountable, and comfortable working in a fast-paced development and manufacturing environment.

Your experience includes:

•    Engineering or science-based technical experience.
•    Experience working in product engineering, integration, new product development, process engineering, manufacturing, quality, or technical support.
•    Knowledge of analytical tools and data analysis techniques used to support technical decision-making and product learning.
•    Experience supporting technical investigations, build reviews, integration reviews, product performance reviews, or improvement activities.

 

You might also have:

 •    HAMR wafer processing, build learning, product integration, qualification, or downstream performance knowledge.
•    Experience with product transfer, change management, root cause investigation, process readiness, or manufacturing readiness reviews.
•    Experience working with cross-site or global development and manufacturing teams.
•    Two years’ experience in an engineering, integration, product development, or technical manufacturing role.

This is a Full-Time position working 39 hours per week, onsite in our Springtown Office in Derry/Londonderry.
