1. Role Purpose
The IT
Officer is responsible for overseeing, coordinating, and managing the Credit
Union’s internal information technology environment to ensure secure, reliable,
and efficient operations. Monaghan Credit Union engages a third-party IT
services provider to manage its core IT infrastructure; therefore, this role
focuses on internal IT governance, oversight of the third-party provider,
coordination of IT service delivery, management of internal IT assets, and ensuring
alignment with all applicable regulatory, legislative, and operational
resilience requirements.
The IT
Officer will serve as the primary internal point of contact for all technology
matters, bridging the gap between the Credit Union’s operational needs and the
services delivered by the external IT provider. The role is integral to
supporting IT audits, maintaining the IT asset register, monitoring regulatory
developments from the Central Bank of Ireland and other relevant bodies, and
ensuring that robust operational resilience arrangements are in place across
all technology-dependent business services.
