New Product Development Technologist
Role Definition

Ensure successful development of new product
ranges, product improvement projects, on time, to specification within the
required budget, quality, safety and efficiency parameters.

Continually develop new
products for the marketplace in line with customer policies to achieve and
increase market share whilst ensuring products meet customer standards
regarding cost, quality ingredients, additives, nutrition and legal
requirements.
accountabilities:
- Understand the customer needs.
- Understand recipe formulation and
create kitchen recipes. - Produce kitchen samples that comply with
internal and customer specifications - Attend customer presentations including
to customers based in the UK, as well as being able to present products to the customers. - Create and validate cooking
instruction recommendations. - Maintain close contact with the
legislation Department to keep abreast of all developments in the Food
Industry. - Recipe – develop recipe, review
recipe with NPI team and take onboard inputs, review availability of
ingredients and source new ingredients, cost recipe. - Review product proposal with NPI
team before submission to the customer. - Customer – present recipe to
customer, take customer input and feedback to the team. If required,
assign new tasks, re-cost, review new product proposal with the team and
present new recipe to the customer. - Request information and line trial
samples for photography or panel. - Agree cooking instructions and
ensure availability of NPD reference sample and photo specifications for
launch. - Launch – liaise with NPI team on
launch plan, sign off first line product against NPD reference sample,
review product post launch with team. - Manage the customer recipe
revisions and samples in the kitchen until the product is fully approved
to progress to the next stage.

Qualifications:
Qualifications
- A recognised 3rd level degree in Science or Technology would be
desirable. In the absence of this the candidate must have exceptional
experience in NPD or as a Pastry Chef.

- Understanding of
emerging trends in nutrition, raw materials and core processes - Understand the requirements of both internal and external customers
